Be Still, Trust, Wait

Don't worry about the wicked
or envy those who do wrong.
For like grass, they soon fade away
Like spring flowers, they soon wither.

Trust in the Lord and do good.
Then you will live safely in the land and prosper
Take delight in the Lord,
and he will give you your heart's desires.

Commit everything you do to the Lord.
Trust him, and he will help you.
He will make your innocence radiate like the dawn,
and the justice of your cause will shine like the noonday sun.

Be still in the presence of the Lord,
and wait patiently for him to act.
Don't worry about evil people who prosper
or fret about their wicked schemes.

Stop being angry!
Turn from your rage!
Do not lose your temper --
it only leads to harm.
For the wicked will be destroyed,
but those who trust in the Lord will possess the land.

Soon the wicked will disappear.
Though you will look for them, they will be gone.
The lowly will possess the land and will live in peace and prosperity.

....

It is better to be godly and have little
than to be evil and rich
For the strength of the wicked will be shattered,
but the Lord takes care of the godly.

Day by day the Lord takes care of the innocent,
and they will receive an inheritance that lasts forever.
They will not be disgraced in hard times;

even in famine they will have more than enough.

Beautiful sea glass

...

The Lord directs the steps of the godly.
He delights in every detail of their lives.
Though they stumble, they will never fall,
for the Lord holds them by the hand.

God gave me this Psalm last night, it's not the whole poem but I was beyond blessed by it.

  1. Good Morning Shannon,
I checked your blog to see if there was a link to the person who was defaming your blog because I was going to leave this comment with them. I am glad that there isn't. Perhaps, if she is reading your blog, she will read it here instead.
For you, for me, and for her, I believe that James talks about wisdom in a way we should all be paying attention to.

    James 3:13-18 says this,
"Who is wise and understanding among you? Show by your good life that your works are done with gentleness born of wisdom. But if you have bitter envy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not be boastful and false to the truth.
Such wisdom does not come down from above, but is earthly, unspiritual, devilish. For where there is envy and selfish ambition, there will also be disorder and wickedness of every kind.
(AND THIS VERSE SHOULD DICTATE OUR WORDS:)
But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceabe, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without a trace of partiality or hypocrisy. And harvest of righteousness is sown in peace for those who make peace.

I pray the only HOLY Spirit will apply this Scripture to all our hearts and today especially, our words.

    1. Thanks Becky, I also pray that the Holy Spirit will continue to dictate my words and actions. And I pray that the Spirit will be the one who holds me accountable when I fall short. I do believe that it is important for me to begin standing up for myself against those who attack me or desire to defame my character, I desire to learn to the measured response that neither overreacts nor ignores the attack. I thank God that he is right here with me as a learn this process.
